Remember you can only be married at the downtown City Hall office room. A wedding which may cost you well over $600 on a Friday or Saturday including the licence, just for the travel to do everything in person three times (possibly over three hours of driving in city traffic there and back at high fuel costs), parking ($15 or more each time) and then the high costs of a booked wedding with limited hours (up to $340.00 with tax). Then you will have to travel to a location for your special pictures. Also think of all the walking and waiting you will have to do in your wedding attire.

FYI: Also we have the pleasure to marry many couples (who have heard horror stories) and were worried about destination weddings where registration of marriage is not done in Ontario and therefore not registered across Canada. Also think of the cost to your friends and family.
FYI: For Couples who are contemplating a beautiful Destination Wedding, please ask your Hotel if your Officiant speaks English. We have heard from Brides that their wedding was done completely in the local language and then translated by someone whose accent was so strong they still did not understand their ceremony.
FYI: One Bride who we married here and use to issue wedding licences at the City Hall said it was a nightmare for couples all dressed up waiting in a crowded corridor as other people were walking by to apply for building permits and such. She said I would never get married at the City Hall. It was like a Las Vegas wedding and you can not honour your faith.

Our Procedures For A 1 & 1 1/2 hour Chapel Wedding

You will need a valid Marriage Licence. See below for locations to apply for your licence. We will have a planning meeting together 3-4 weeks before your wedding so everyone will know what to do. We have a rehearsal guide to help you.

You will need two witnesses. And as many as you want in your Bridal party.

For short notice weddings please phone us at (613-489-2678) or e-mail ahead for an appointment. Same day appointment is possible in summer months. A 12-24 hour notice is necessary in the winter months.(No need to come in person as at the City Hall where it is first come first served.)

For short notice weddings all you need to do is to be here 15 minutes before your ceremony to fill out an information sheet or go to our Contact Us and fill it out before hand and send it on ahead.

We have three ceremonies to choose from, Civil (No mention of God) a Non-Denominational (Mentions God) and our Catholic/Anglican Ceremony.

After booking bring your family and friends to our seasonally decorated Chapel for one and half hours (more then the 10 that City Hall allows, you and your witnesses & the city clerk count as 5) (our indoor limit is 60 guests) and have a wonderful wedding day inside or out dependent on the weather with great picture opportunities for one to one and half hours. (City Hall is in a converted office space and allows just 20 minutes per wedding with a 7 minute ceremony).

Bring cash or cheque. (City Hall only allows cash) For a planned wedding $100.00 deposit is needed. In my name.

You must be clear of mind. Under Provincial Law couples and witnesses must not be under the influence of any intoxicants. (We have the right to refuse service, as required under our license).
Just remember City Hall conducts 800 to 900 weddings a year and mostly during the peak wedding season, you may never get the date that is important to you and your family.
