Wedding Vows

Many engaged couples who are preparing for their wedding day opt to write their very own personalized wedding vows rather than simply reciting the traditional vows these days. These couples feel that customized wedding vows, something that they themselves came up with, are more heartfelt and meaningful to them. But there a few things you must consider.

 First: you do that, you ought to clear it up with your officiant, priest or minister if you are allowed to say your very own written vows during the ceremony.

 Second:  Ask your fiancé/fiancée if he/she wants your wedding vows to be personalized. And what words to say separately or use the same words and what length

 Third: asking yourself a few questions about the person you are marrying

• What is the one thing that you like most about your intended?
• When was it that you realized that this is the one person whom you wished to spend your life with?
• Why do you think the two of you should marry?
• What is the memory that you cherish most about your intended?

Fourth: to make your wedding vows look and sound pretty there are plenty of websites out there that provide such resources – quotes, stories, passages, poems

Fifth: your wedding vows do not have to be intricate or verbose. In fact, the simpler it is, all the more it will be appreciated. 

Sixth: There are some requirements legally to do in a vow that is needed in some province/state, ask your officiant to review them, all vows in Ontario must have "legally wedded wife/husband" in the vows.

 

Below are examples of romantic wedding vows.

 

1. Many people spend their lives searching for their soulmate, their one true love. Some people are lucky to find the person they can truly call the better half of themselves, while others spend the rest of their lives searching and never finding. I am happy to count myself among the lucky ones, because I certainly found you.

 I love you, (name of spouse). I know that you are the only one for me, my one true love. I am happy and I am grateful that you came into my life, that where others have spent their entire lives looking for the one, I have found you. And now that I have found you, I shall never let you go. I promise you, (name of spouse), that I shall hold you and cherish you and give you my heart, that I shall support you and care for you. I promise to love and cherish you, to keep you close and with faithfulness, to be your prop and helpmate in times of need, to make you laugh and to hold you when you cry, to hold you to the highest respect and honor as you so deserve for the rest of my life.

 

3. (Spouse's name), you once told me that you are afraid of growing old. You told me then that to grow old means to be alone, and it frightens you. But I want you to grow old, (spouse’s name). I want to watch the wrinkles form on your face and every strand of your hair turn white, because to me you would be the most beautiful, even when you are all wrinkled and gray.
