For all faiths & ethnic cultures we offer a simple solution to legalize your marriage if your religious leader does not have their license to sign your marriage documents.
Our fees are lower then the Ottawa City Hall
We offer a totally civil marriage done in a half hour.
Where all documentation for your marriage is made legal in a simple process.
For many ethnic couples they have a wonderful ceremony particular to their faith and culture & they come to us before or after their wedding and have the marriage licence legalized.
Procedures & Costs for a Ethnic Wedding
- You will need a valid Marriage Licence in hand. At any Client Centre (Old City Halls). Or local City Halls in the valley.
- You will need two witnesses. Required
- Phone us at (613-489-2678) or e-mail ahead for an appointment. Same day appointment is possible in summer months. A 12-24 hour notice is necessary in the winter months.(No need to come in person as at the City Hall which is first come first served.)
- All you need to do is to be here 15 minutes before your ceremony to fill out an information sheet or go to our Contact Us and fill it out before hand and send it on ahead.
- Our civil ceremony has all the requirements by law to be legal.
- After booking bring your family and friends to our seasonally decorated Chapel (10 Guests not including the Couple or young children) and have a wonderful wedding day inside or out dependent on the weather with great picture opportunities for one half hour. (City Hall is in a converted office space and allows just 20 minutes per wedding with a 7 minute ceremony).
- Cash only please at this time.
- You must be clear of mind. Under Provincial Law couples and witnesses must not be under the influence of any intoxicants. (We have the right to refuse service, as required under our license).
Fees for your half hour Wedding (No Tax Required)
1. From Monday to Thursday $150.00 (City Hall up to $152.00 tax included).
2. Friday to 2:00 PM $240.00
3. From Friday 2:00 PM to Sunday $300.00 (City Hall up to $350.00 tax Included)
4. Civic Holidays weekends Friday to Monday, our fee is 350.00 (City Hall is not open at all to serve you) also the week between Christmas and New Years.
Our services include the ceremony only and time is strict due to the number of weddings conducted.
Just remember City Hall conducts over 900 weddings a year and mostly during the peak wedding season, you may never get the date that is important to you and your loved one.
